Your dreams serve everyone. No, seriously.

I recently shared a story (that's getting a lot of buzz) of how my honoring my dreams actually helped my DAUGHTER realize her dreams of becoming a nurse in a completely unexpected way.

This story is SO good I just had to come tell you it here: Years ago I had a dream of becoming a massage therapist. I remember hearing an ad for a local massage school on the radio, and something in me just gave me a nudge like, "DO THIS, LAURIE!!!" At the time I was a stay-at-home mom, and for so many reasons going back to school felt out of the question. One day, it was like all of a sudden I found myself bitter and resentful... because even though I had so many things to be grateful for - a loving hubby, beautiful kids, a home I loved - I just couldn't help but feel like something BIG was missing. (I didn't know it at the time, but those feelings of bitterness & resentment were actually trying to help me honor myself!) I wanted to contribute in a bigger way. In a way that only I could, helping people by doing something I loved... That day I couldn’t take it anymore and decided that I NEED to do this. I need to go to massage school... so I did.

I had been wanting this for 10 years and I decided it was about damn time. So, the thing about massage school is that it's actually pretty intense. If you happened to go to massage school, you know what I'm talking about!! This extensive education around the human body, health, and wellness prepares you to really go out there and help people at all stages of health and wellbeing, as it should!!

Basically, when you're learning about the human body, there's no messing around... Much like my eldest daughter’s nursing program.

My daughter was having trouble in nursing school, and she was at a point where if she didn’t pass her upcoming exam, she was gonna be kicked out of her nursing program. She didn't tell me what was happening until it was almost too late.

She was (and is) sooo so smart, and I just knew that just making a minor tweak somewhere would set everything in motion for her. We sat down on my office floor and I asked her to show me where she was getting stuck to see if I could help her.

The thing she was hung up on was blood vessels. Being in massage school I knew ALL about them, and better yet, I KNEW I could help!

I shared an analogy that had helped me when I was in massage school, and I saw it. The shift in her face. The lightbulb had clicked. She GOT IT!!!

She passed her exam and all the other ones thereafter, with flying colors. Today I’m the proud mother of a Registered Nurse who has her BSN.

This is the part that I really want you to hear... I never would’ve been able to help my daughter sitting on the floor of my office that day had I not taken the time and space to honor myself and my dreams of going to massage school.

...See, you never know exactly how you’re going to help someone, but that’s not the point:

The point is that following your dreams will serve the people you love in more incredible ways than you can imagine. You don’t need to go back to school as I did… All YOU have to do is decide to make yourself and your dreams non-negotiable.

Starting today.

I share this because I know I'm not the only one who has thought that putting your dreams on the back burner would be helping others... But as you can see from my story, I was so wrong!!! What if your story has yet to unfold because it's waiting for you to say YES to it right now? I'm telling you right now... They are. And so is everyone else who's waiting to be touched by your fulfilled dreams in even more incredible ways than you can imagine. And if you're ready to see what dreams are ready to start manifesting for YOU, I invite you to sign up for my Vision Board Workshop on 1/12/22!! Click this link for details & sign up!

Much love,

Laurie
